About...

It's Cihan (or simply "G"). I'm a music producer and audio engineer originally from a mediterranean city of Turkey, called Adana. Born in 1992 and lived in many different places up until this day.

Music has always been with me, day and night. It's been the same passion for me as football. That feeling when you get past a player with a cool trick and score, it is the same as playing a smooth chord progression. Both qualities come from inside. If you already have it, you enjoy it. That simple.

Artists like George Michael, Bill Evans, Paco de Lucia, Miles Davis, James Brown inspired me throughout my journey in discovering music. It always felt like connecting myself to other-wordly ambiances. The groove and emotions they had in their music caught me so bad back in the days.

My electronic music journey started in 2011, while I was in high school in Istanbul. It wasn't a full intro, though. I bought my first MIDI keyboard and audio interface, downloaded Reason 5 and started making 8-bar loops. It was quite hard for me to understand the software and general terminology, I never finished a project because of that. It seemed Chinese to me. But good thing is that I met Deep & Soulful House music back then. Still remember the first time I heard those smooth and elegant sounds. Immediately fell in love.

In 2017, while studying at university in Ankara, I decided to make DJ mixes. I thought it would be easier than making music and I was right. Learned the tricks of making a whole DJ mix easily and created a digital label called "909 Lounge" under which I published my creations. I did it on Ableton and I am still using Ableton to make music. These practices helped me to learn the basics of the devices, MIDI and audio.

Finally in 2021, I moved to Spain to get the music education I desired for a long time. I already knew some contemporary Spanish musicians but more importantly I grew up listening to Paco de Lucia and Gypsy Kings. I always wanted to learn the language and meet the culture there.

Learning how to process an audio signal, how to color and shape it, to know what parameter is about what, how to synthesize and use in terms of technicality and musicality makes things easier. During my music education, I made productions for term projects in which I included some good vocalists. It is a pleasure for me to find talents and make something unique out of them. In the end, it is a mutual satisfaction.

After having finished my studies, I started releasing my music under the name "G. Sharp". So far I've signed contracts with a few labels. And more music is on the way!

Apart from making my own music, I mix and master other people's projects as part of my audio engineering job.

I speak and write in four languages; Turkish, French, English and Spanish.

And always in search of some good vocals! 🎤
